I pride myself on my indo-caribbean heritage. Born in London by parents both of mixed caribbean heritage, I battled alot with understanding my identity and who I was in my community, what did I represent?. Fortunately growing up in the London borough of Brent (London Borough of Culture 2020) I was surrounded by an enormous multi-cultural and diverse community. With friends from all over the world; I realised that I didn’t need to have a singular perspective of who i was, I was a multitude of things. I Now take this into my work. Taking full advantage of my ability to inhabit various roles, especially of different races and cultures. I do this with pride, to be a bridge and connector to communities and audiences through storytelling.
